Lightning Storm!
Saturday 10th May 2008
Anybody in the South West last night would have experienced a terrific lightning storm last night. In Bristol it started around 8:30pm and continued until at least 10pm. Unlike most storms, which come and go quite quickly, this one seemed to hand around and throw down a brilliant display of lightning.
Unfortunately we were facing the wrong direction for most of the storm, but as it was passing I did capture a few photographs of lightning, some looked as if they hit quite close by! You can see these photographs attached below, or you can see my gallery of previous lightning storms as well.
The lightning lit the sky up in a multitude of colours; from pinks to green, yellow and blue, and there was a variety of sheet lightning and bolt lightning.
